Counselling for Individuals

I work with people of all ages, backgrounds, and stages of life.

Individuals come to counselling for many reasons – a major life change (break-up, loss of employment, gender transition), a crisis or conflict in a relationship, workplace stress, depression or anxiety, or simply “feeling stuck.”  My aim in personal counselling is to create a facilitative relationship in which you are invited to explore questions, take risks, gain insights, and, ultimately, pursue your own life goals.  In our sessions, we will:

  •  Work through difficult feelings, such as anger, sadness or anxiety;
  •  Develop skills for more effective communication, healthier relationships, and self-awareness;
  •  Build greater self-worth, well-being and happiness.

My practice has a special focus on:

  • Personal empowerment: Building on your intrinsic strengths to become your truest self.
  • Relationships: Building self-awareness and communication toward greater intimacy.
  • LGBTQ: Sensitive, knowledgeable, queer-positive counselling, including navigating gender identity.
  • Workplace: Learning to effectively manage power dynamics and resolve conflict.

Counselling is a place to find answers to your questions.  I provide a safe space where you can slow down, reflect, recognize where your choices have been limited, and, ultimately, move forward with greater freedom.  In our counselling sessions, we will:

  • Work through difficult feelings, such as anger, sadness or anxiety;
  • Learn skills to build healthier behaviours, relationships and outlook;
  • Work towards building greater self-worth, well-being and happiness.
